PHYSICIANS, PATIENTS TO BENEFIT FROM MAJOR INVESTMENTS IN NEW IMAGING SOFTWARE AT MUNSTER OPEN MRI CENTER

Jan 31, 2007

Improved Quality, Better Service and Faster Results Motivation Behind Upgrade.

MUNSTER, Ind. – The Munster Open MRI Center, a provider of medical imaging services serving Northeast Indiana and South Chicago, recently made upgrades to its imaging technology that will mean improved image results and better response for physicians treating patients.

Munster Open MRI has upgraded their current software on the Philips Panorama, a magnetic resonance imaging scanner (MRI) from .6T to 1.0T capabilities. This new software results state-of-the art features that allow for quicker studies so patients are on the scanning table for less time without sacrificing image results.

In addition, a new “flex coil” allows the technicians to extend the imaging view and area without additional scan time. The new software also features Ortho/Spine and Body packages for more detailed image quality and neurology including EPI software for Stroke Imaging.

"Having a reliable, fast, accurate MRI is an invaluable resource for prompt treatment, better outcomes, and higher patient satisfaction," stated Dr. Mark K. Chang of Keystone Orthopedics Specialists, S.C. in Munster, IN and Hazel Crest, IL.

Additionally, a CD of the scan images is now available to physicians, bringing additional value, along with a 24-48 hour report turnaround.

For patients that are anxious, claustrophobic, or have significant weight issues, the MRI is a true open on all sides for comfort and ease.

Munster Open MRI Center offers a full range of medical diagnostic imaging services with 24-hour scheduling, convenient parking and easy access to the imaging facilities.

Munster Open MRI Center, Diagnostic Specialties Center, and Molecular Imaging Institute, serving Northwest Indiana, are all under the umbrella of Alliance Imaging—the nation’s leading provider of diagnostic imaging services.
